LINCOLN - Treasurer Tom Briese has announced the 2024 Unclaimed Property Annual Report is being published in 16 Nebraska newspapers.
“This is a great way for Nebraskans to check to see if they, their business or their friends or family may have property they are entitled to. Nearly 1 in 5 Nebraskans have some sort of Unclaimed Property held by my office, and we want to get it back to the rightful owner,” Briese said. “In addition to those who get the hard copy of the Unclaimed Property report, I also want to encourage everyone to check out our online database at www.NebraskaLostCash.gov, which is constantly updated.”
The 2024 Tabloid represents $17 million in new unclaimed property for the owners listed within the publication. The report is being published as a 48- page tabloid insert in 16 Nebraska newspapers, as required by State Statute, according to the following schedule: It was published Saturday, March 9, in the Scottsbluff Star-Herald, and Sunday, March 10, in the Omaha World Herald Other publishing dates are as follows: Wednesday, March 20 — Alliance Times-Herald Thursday, March 21 - Holdrege Citizen, Sidney Daily Sun Friday, March 22 - McCook Gazette
Saturday, March 23 — York News-Times, Norfolk Daily News, Kearney Daily Hub, Hastings Tribune, Columbus Telegram, Beatrice Daily Sun, Fremont Tribune, North Platte Telegraph Sunday, March 24 - Lincoln Journal Star, Grand Island Independent In 2023 the Nebraska Treasurer’s Unclaimed Property Division returned more than $17 million and paid out more than 22,000 claims.
