LINCOLN, Neb. June 3, 2024 - For the week ending June 2, 2024, there were 4.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 3% very short, 11% short, 74% adequate, and 12% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 4% very short, 17% short, 70% adequate, and 9% surplus.

OSMOND – The annual Osmond FFA Awards Banquet was held on Friday, April 26, despite a slight delay because of the dangerous weather conditions earlier in the evening. More than 40 FFA members, parents, and guests gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the chapter and its members.

Nebraska cattle on feed down 1%
LINCOLN – Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.51 million cattle on feed on May 1, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This inventory was down 1% from last year.
