Catholic Schools Week starts Sunday
OSMOND – St. Mary’s School will observe Catholic Schools Week beginning with a Mass on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Kevin Vogel as celebrant. The theme for the observance, which continues through Feb. 2, is “Heroes of Our Faith.”

City council to help with community center project
OSMOND – The Osmond City Council met Wednesday, Jan. 10, after being rescheduled because of the weather. The meeting began with Mayor Dennis Kuhl announcing the following appointment for 2024: On the Library Board (two consecutive four-year terms): Denise Schmit (first term expiring 2028).

Ambulance fund gets boost
The OsmondAmbulance Fund received a big boost with several large donations this past week. Security Bank, Community HOME Team and and Town & Country Insurance each gave generous donations to the fund which is now, after about six months, at about half of the new ambulance cost of $325,000. For information on contributing to the ambulance fund, you may contact Missy Hoppe at (402) 649-6414, send your donation to Security Bank of Osmond or give to any EMT.

Bless the Volunteers
Six days in the Caribbean was plenty. Curious, we kept a close eye on the weather here and being the foolish folks that we can be, were a little saddened by missing the storm. It was nice of course, strolling around the islands in 80 degree temps, but not being able to share the Nebraska experience was somewhat disheartening.
