Hazel A. Kumm

OSMOND – Funeral services for Hazel A. Kumm, 93, of Osmond were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. Rev. Brian Tuma officiated the service. Interment was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Osmond. Visitation was 3-5 p.m. Sunday, also at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond.

Hazel passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel was born on Nov. 13, 1932, in Plainview to George and Marie (Luedtke) Schlote. She was baptized on Dec. 11, 1932, and confirmed on April 14, 1946. Hazel grew up in Plainview and attended Plainview Public School. She married Gerald Kumm on June 6, 1954, in Plainview.

After marriage, they moved to rural Osmond and farmed in the Osmond area. Hazel enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and card clubs.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Gerald Kumm of Norfolk; children Gordon (Marion) Kumm of Phoenix, AZ, Sandy (Terry) Wilkerson of Coleridge, Jeri Doerr of Pierce, Steve (Tina) Kumm of Osmond, Betty (Robert) Colwell of Coleridge and Carolyn Kumm of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister Hattie Kumm of Osmond, and sister-in-law Verna Schlote of Plainview.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie; three brothers, Herman, Harry, and Harvey, and two sisters, Hilda Brown and Helen Dehning.
