Following the graveside, a celebration of life luncheon will be held at the American Legion in Osmond.

Jacqueline passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Osmond General Hospital in Osmond. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Jacqueline Sue was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Iowa County, Iowa, to John Allan Simmons and Mary Marguerite Fitzgibbon. She attended grade school in Iowa until moving to Wausa when her mother remarried. Jacquie attended Magnet Public School and graduated in 1951. Following graduation, she worked at a drug store in West Point before marrying Norman D. Lorenz on May 4, 1952, by the Rev. Theo Wieting at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Their marriage was blessed with three children: Michael, Debra and Patrice.

They built a life together farming and milking cows until the late 1970's, when Jacquie sold the cow herd, unbe- knownst to Norman. As their children grew older, they became foster parents to four children for a number of years.

When their family was grown, Jacquie started working for Arnie Prather Construction, doing the painting and staining. Eventually she and her husband started their own business painting, staining and wallpapering. In 1989, they built a house in Osmond where they started the first bed and breakfast in the area, the Willow Way B & B. Jacquie enjoyed meeting and hosting people from all over the country. Playing bridge was always a favorite pastime with Jacquie as was reading and doing embroidery work.

Survivors include son Michael (Tammy) Lorenz of Beemer; daughters Debra (Jim) Schmit of Osmond and Patrice (James) Krienert of Norfolk; foster sons David of Mt. Ayr, IA, and Andy Miller of Osmond. Jacquie is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Buffy, as well as brother-in-law Jerry Thomsen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents John Simmons and Mary and Wayne Reed; parents-in-law Walter and Beata Lorenz; sister Karla Thomsen; brothers- and sisters-in-law Herb and Janelle Goger and Wayne and Arlene Lorenz; nephew Tommy Lorenz and foster son Craig Larkin.
