Marty died at his residence in Norfolk. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Marty was born on Oct. 28, 1956, in Osmond to Orin and Meldean (Steckelberg) Kumm. He graduated from Osmond High School in 1975. After high school, Marty attended Northeast Community College in construction. Marty farmed with his father over the years before moving to Norfolk in 2002 where he worked various jobs. Marty enjoyed watching sports especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Marty also enjoyed his daily coffee visits at McDonald's with friends and frequent trips to the casino. Marty was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond where he was baptized and confirmed.

Marty is survived by his sister LuAnn (Carl) Petersen of Jackson, NE; nephews Jared (Dustie) Blunck of Pierce and John (Emily) Blunck of Papillion, and great-niece and nephew Honora Blunck and Gordon Blunck.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Orin and Meldean.
