Arlene I. Lorenz

NORFOLK – Funeral services for Arlene I. Lorenz, 90 of Ponte Vedra, FL, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. Officiating the service was Pastor Jacob Tuma. Pallbearers were Steve Lorenz, David Lorenz, William Lorenz, Dawson Lorenz, Jason Wheaton and Mike Lorenz. Burial took place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Osmond. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time on Saturday.

Arlene died on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Starling in Ponte Vedra, FL. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Arlene was born on Aug. 30, 1934, in Osmond to David and Irene (Bloomquist) Johnson. She graduated from Osmond High School as well as the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Arlene married Wayne Lorenz on Dec. 29, 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Osmond. The couple lived in Osmond, Belleville, IL, St. Louis, MO, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Vistoria, Australia, and Ponte Vedra, FL. Arlene was a teacher when they lived in Illinois and Missouri. She enjoyed quilt-making, crocheting, doll-making, organizing charities, and being a church organist.

Survivors include sons David Lorenz of St. Louis, MO, and Steven (Rhonda) Lorenz of Midhurst, Canada; grandchildren Ashley Evans (Lorenz), William W. Lorenz and Dawson Lorenz; stepgranddaughter Sharon DiBernardo (Jason Wheaton), and great-grandchildren Carley B. Evans and Kason Evans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lorenz; son Thomas Lorenz; parents David and Irene Johnson, and brothers Willis, Darwin, Dwayne, and Harlan.
