RANDOLPH – Funeral services for Virginia M. Huwaldt, 97, of Randolph, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph. PMA Dwight Brummels officiated the ser vice. Interment was at the Randolph City Cemetery. Visitation was from

5 to 7 p.m. Monday, also at the St. John's Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were Dean Wattier, Wendi Bennett, Adam Christensen, Kim Huwaldt, Angie Huwaldt, and Jacob Huwaldt. Honorary pallbearers were all the grandchildren.

Virginia passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Randolph is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia was born Dec. 17, 1927, in rural Meadow Grove. The daughter of Alvie and Louise (Hledik) Robinson was baptized at United Church of Christ in Pierce and confirmed at St.

John's Lutheran Church in Randolph. Virginia attended school district #2 Pierce and graduated from Pierce High School in 1945. She taught country school in Pierce County District 34 for two years. Virginia married Keith Huwaldt on June 1, 1947, in Randolph. They farmed in the Randolph area, owned and operated Huwaldt trucking, and raised purebred Hereford cattle. Virginia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Randolph, and served on various church organizations. She was a 4-H leader, part of a quilting group, and was a lifetime member of Post 5545 Randolph Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Virginia and Keith were inducted into the Pierce County Ag Society Hall of Fame in 1998.

Virginia is survived by her children, Susie (Frank) Wattier of Randolph, Jean Bierschenk of Randolph, Peggy (Robert) Christensen of Pierce, Donald (Audra) Huwaldt of Osmond, Edward (Marsha) Huwaldt of Randolph and Joseph (Bobbey) Huwaldt of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild; sister-in-law Delores Robinson of Foster; sister-in-law Delores Haselhorst of Randolph, and brother-in-law James Wagner of Winnetoon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith; parents, Alvie and Louise; two grandchildren, Crystal Huwaldt and Shawn Bierschenk; brother Edwin Robinson; son-inlaw Gaylen Bierschenk, and sisters Bernice Wagner and Alvina (Orville) Heller.
