Terry Makelin will be officiating the service. Interment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m., also at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mardell passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Osmond General Hospital in Osmond. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond is in charge of the arrangements.
Mardell (Beed) Koehler was born on Sept. 24, 1934, to Marvin and Rose (Schumacher) Beed on a farm 12 miles northeast of Neligh. She was baptized at her parent's home

and later confirmed at St. Paul Lu theran Church in Neligh. Mardell attended rural schools at Willowdale, Black Lake and District 107. She graduated as class salutatorian from Neligh. She graduated from Wayne State College. She taught country school in Antelope County District 20 for five years. Mardell married Arlan Koehler on June 2, 1957. They farmed in the McLean area. Mardell was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School, participating in choir and a member of Ladies' Aid. She was a Legion Auxiliary Unit 326 member. Mardell was an avid scrapbooker.
Mardell is survived by her son Kevin (Janice) Koehler of Osmond; eight grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren, and sisters Ruth Groothuis of Lincoln and Darlene (Chuck) Stuhr of Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arlan; parents, Marvin and Rose; daughter Ronda; son Ricky, and brother Loren.
