Delvin passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at the Plainview Manor in Plainview. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond is in charge of the arrangements. Delvin was born on Sept. 21, 1941, in Imperial to James and Edna (Jer) Gardner. He attended grade school at Imperial to the eighth grade. Delvin married Loneta 'Lonnie' Mae Waters on Jan. 2, 1960, in Oregon. Delvin worked for the telephone company for 42 years. Delvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, picnics, going to family
gatherings, working in the garden and lawn, going to the grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities, and tinkering in his garage. Delvin is survived by his wife Loneta 'Lonnie' Gardner of Osmond; children Rick (Bette) Gardner of Osmond, Ronda (Clark) Nelsen of Norfolk and Brenda (Neil) Wattier of Osmond; daughter-in-law Kim Gardner (LeRoy O'Neill) of Pierce; grandchildren Jenifer (Nick) Krienert of Osmond, Calvin (Andrea) Gardner of Osmond, Tami Sprigler of Yankton, Keigh Gardner of Iowa, Aj (Kylie) Gerdes of Omaha, Matt (Katie) Gerdes of Wayne, Lucas (Lauren) Nelson of Lincoln, Sara Gardner of Pierce, Megan (Bryce) Olson of Lyons, Jashua Wattier (Carrie) of Osmond and Kayla Wattier (Leo) of Norfolk; great-grandchildren Hayle (fiance Levi) Fredrick of Laurel, Caydence and Gage Krienert of Osmond, Tessa, Kaleb, and Kendra Gardner of Osmond, James Umberger (girlfriend Maggie Hansen) of South Dakota, Memory and Echo German of South Dakota, Barrett and Jax Gerdes of Omaha, Isabella Gerdes of Wayne, Owen and Zoey Nelson of Lincoln, Bailey and McKennah Tuttle of Lyons, Shaylee and Cailynn Gardner of Pierce, Vayden, Aria, Daliha, and Alliayah Wattier of Osmond, Chester Eddie of Norfolk and Hazel Saldana of Norfolk; great-great-granddaughter Harper Umberger; sister-inlaw Carol Gardner of Colorado; sisters Leveta Reynolds of Parker, CO, and LeAnn Goff of Imperial; brother Vernon 'Butch' (Pam) Gardner of Oregon, and sister-in-law Deloris Sample of Iowa.
Delvin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Gardner; son Randy Gardner; daughter Cristi Green; grandson Travis Gardner; granddaughter Tina Gerdes; nephews Darin Gardner, Nathan Gardner and Aaron Gardner; sisters and spouses Pauline and Gilbert Brandt and Maurine and Gale Ransdell; brothers Myron Gardner and Larry and wife Shirley Gardner; sisterin- law Betty Vobora; brothers-in-law Richard Reynolds, Duane Goff, Vernerd Waters and Kirmit and wife Donna Waters; nephews-in-law Dennis Holmes and Moris Pargas, and in-laws Harry and Thema Waters and Kirk Samples.
