OSMOND – Funeral services for Lenore Dorothy Dennis, 94, longtime resident of Osmond, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Osmond. Officiating the service will be Father Kevin Vogel and Deacon Doug Tunink. Burial will take place at St. Frances Catholic Cemetery in Randolph. Pallbearers will be Randy Moore, Rob Moore, Tom Bloomquist, Adam Bloomquist, Bryce Dennis, Dustin Schomaker, Austin Thelen, Cody Dennis, Clint Dennis and Craig Dennis. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, also at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with a Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. The service will be live-streamed on the Stonacek Funeral Chapel Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/stonacekfuneralchapel/. Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Osmond is in charge of the arrangements. Lenore died peacefully surrounded by her family on Feb. 20, 2026, at the Stanton Health Center. She was a resident of the Homestead in Norfolk for the last 3 years of her life. Known affectionately to most as Lenny or Grandma Dennis, she touched many lives over her 94 years with her spirit of service, humor, and love. She leaves behind a tremendous legacy of faith, family and everlasting joy. Lenny's story began on June 2, 1931, in West Point, NE. Born to Erwin and Dorothy (Reding) Meyer, she was one of eight children. She graduated from St. Francis Catholic School in Randolph in 1949 and married Laverne ('Bud') Dennis on Jan. 29, 1951. They settled on farms in Randolph and Coleridge. In 1961, they moved to Osmond to manage the Mobil Station. Together, Bud and Lenny built a large and loving family of eight children: Tonda, Pamela, Robert, Teresa, Dan, Dorothy, Beverly, and Jerry. Their life was rooted in faith, work, and community. Lenny wore many hats throughout her years in Osmond - school bus driver and cook in the kitchen, friendly face at the first Mini Mart, folding laundry each week for Jim Peschel and keeping the post office spotless well into her 80s. But Lenny didn't just work - she connected.

Whether on the job or volunteering with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, St. Mary's Ladies Guild, Christian Mothers and the Osmond General Hospital Auxiliary, she found joy in showing up for others. Every role was a chance to laugh with a neighbor, lend a hand, or brighten someone's day — and she cherished the many friends who joined her along the way.

Her Catholic faith shaped the way she moved through the world. Lenny was an active member of St. Mary's of the Seven Dolors Parish in Osmond. Over the years she served the church in many ways. Prayer was part of her daily rhythm, a steady way to stay grounded and grateful. The Rosary, especially, was a comfort and constant — an anchor through every season of life. Lenny will be remembered by many for her meals that brought people together. A true farm-to-table cook, she grew food, preserved it, and turned it into dishes that felt like home. Her meals were always offered with open hands and a generous heart. She fed her family, her neighbors, and anyone who came to her home was likely to leave with a jar of homemade jelly. Lenny was a lady on the go. Always saying yes to the next travel adventure. She enjoyed Classic Club outings, Saturday evening Mass and dinner with friends. On Thursday nights, you were likely to find her enjoying the company of fam ily and friends at the Magnet Bar and Grill. She never missed a chance to cheer on her children and grandchildren no matter if they were on the field, the wrestling mat or stage, she wanted to be there. She appreciated laughter, music and stories — especially the kind that happen when people linger a little longer at the table. And she always made room for life's small pleasures — like her favorite treat, of a beer with chocolate ice cream.

She is lovingly remembered by; her children Tonda (Sid) Moore and Teresa (Rod) Bloomquist of Norfolk, and Dan (Susie) Dennis, Dode (Murray) Schomaker, Bev Thelen and Jerry (Alison) Dennis, all of Osmond; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings LaFay Santos of Dixon, IL., Clayton Meyer of Walthill, Marvene Wragge and Donna Halsey of Pierce, Gayle Lang of Pawnee City, Gary Meyer of Grand Island, and Linn (Ron) Reding of Bennington, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends who will carry her memory with love.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud; parents Erwin and Dorothy; daughter Pamela Dennis; infant son Robert Dennis; son-in-law Steve Thelen; brothers-in-law Dick Santos, Don Wragge and Darold Halsey, and sisters-inlaw Jo Meyer, Harriet Meyer and Beverly Meyer.

Her unwavering faith, lifelong service to others, and boundless love for family and community remain a guiding light — giving us peace and gratitude as we carry her spirit in our hearts forever.
