CENTER – The Knox County Planning Commission is set to hold several public hearings on May 14 in Center.
The commission is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. inside the Board of Supervisors’ room at the county courthouse. The meeting is open to the public. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The intent of one public hearing is to receive public commentsregarding corrections to be made to Knox County Zoning Resolution Section8.04, Recreational Vehicle Parks, to agree with Resolution No. 2021-45.
A public hearing also will be held to receive public comments regarding proposed amendments to 8.08.06, Commercial/Utility Grade Wind Energy Systems, including setbacks to property lines, setbacks to dwelling units owned by non-participating landowners, setbacks to wetlands (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Types III, IV and V), setbacks to meteorological towers, shadow flicker, aircraft detection lighting systems, discontinuation and decommissioning plan, including cost and restoration, noise, clustering, site insurance and height.
There also will be a public hearing regarding a request to change Commercial/ Utility Grade Wind Energy Systems from zoning districts AGT and AGP to industrial.
