CENTER – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office hosted pistol and patrol rifle qualification April 26 at its gun range.
Seventeen law enforcement officials from the Bloomfield, Creighton, Santee Sioux Nation Tribal and Verdigre police departments, along with the sheriff’s office, participated in and passed the state of Nebraska’s qualification course on a rainy day with temperatures in the upper 40s.
Knox County Sheriff Don Henery and and his deputies also went over the sheriff’s office pursuit policy. After a group meal, the sheriff and his deputies participated in and passed a Taser recertification course hosted by the Ohiya Casino & Resort near Niobrara along with officers from the Santee Sioux Nation Tribal Police Department and casino staff members.
