WAUSA – A recent Wausa High School graduate has received a Central Valley Ag Scholarship.

Cashe Carlson, who graduated from high school on May 11, was recently announced as one of the 2024 CVA Scholarship winners. Twenty students pursuing a career in an agriculturally related field won awards of $1,000 each.

Carlson is set to attend Northeast Community College in Norfolk and major in agribusiness.

The CVA scholarship program goes beyond financial aid. It aims to encourage academic excellence while fostering a deeper understanding of the agricultural industry and the cooperative business model.

Students completed an online application and submitted an essay focused on describing how cooperatives can demonstrate their value to upcoming generations.

Scholarship eligibility was limited to students of CVA member-owners and CVA employees who are pursuing a career in agriculture.

“The scholarship recipients embody the spirit of the hardworking producers we are proud to serve every day,” said Chad Carlson, CVA senior vice president of talent.

“CVA’s annual scholarship program is a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting the future leaders, innovators and advocates of agriculture,” he said.

The 2025 scholarship program for CVA will launch in the fall of 2024.
