NIOBRARA – Weather permitting, work will begin on May 28 on the Bazile Creek Bridge on Highway 12, about two miles east of the eastern intersection of Highways 12 and 14 near Niobrara.
According to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, A.M. Cohron & Sons Inc., Atlantic, Iowa, has the contract for the project.
Work includes bridge deck and approach replacements with concrete patching.
Traffic will be maintained with a surfaced shoofly – bypass – and temporary traffic signals. A 12-foot width restriction will apply on a temporary bridge.
Anticipated completion for the project is November 2024. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and to put their phones down.
