CREIGHTON – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash at about 7 p.m., May 24, that occurred at the intersection of Highways 14 and 59, about six miles west of Creighton.
The investigation revealed George Burkhardt, 61, Winnetoon, was driving a motor vehicle south on Highway 14 and turned east onto Highway 59, when it was struck by a northbound vehicle.
At the same time, another motor vehicle, operated by Myles Kittelson, 18, Neligh, was traveling north on Highway 14.
Kittelson noted he attempted to avoid the collision by slightly swerving, but could not and his vehicle struck Burkhardt’s vehicle. A witness was stopped at the intersection and noted the southbound vehicle turned east in front of the northbound vehicle.
Two individuals were treated and released by medical personnel on scene and two other individuals were transported to Avera Creighton Hospital. All four individuals involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts.
James Byron Craft, a sex offender, reported on May 21, and he resides at 88909 539th Ave., Bloomfield.
