BLOOMFIELD – The Piecemakers Quilt Club met on May 9 at the Good Samaritan Society’s Sunset View assisted living facility in Bloomfield.
Barb Gillilan hosted with a delicious lunch and provided everyone with hyacinth seeds to plant. Those present in addition to Barb were Virginia Lindquist, Lois Tangeman, Jan Hoebelheinrich, Garnet Anderson, Carolyn Hall, Bonnie Suhr and daughters, Cindy and Penny.
Lois finished quilting the second charity quilt; Bonnie will bind it.
Deb Kruse presented Garnet with a quilt top made by Viola Landholm to be finished. Viola was an original member of the club.
Virginia recommended her new quilting iron. It was small and cordless.
Cindy donated a strip quilt to finish; it needs to be longer.
Bonnie completed the calendar monthly project samples. Jelly roll quilt-as-you-go is ongoing.
A discussion was held on Christmas projects. Cindy showed some projects on her phone for ideas. Members should bring Christmas patterns to the club’s next meeting.
Cindy gave everyone information on her hometown fabric store in Julesburg, Colo.
This year’s raffle quilt is ready for binding. Jan will take it home and finish the project.
Cindy brought for show-and-tell a beautiful king-size black, white and gold quilt that she made for her own personal use.
The club’s next meeting has been scheduled for June 13 at the Sunset View assisted living facility in Bloomfield. Carolyn will be the hostess.
