CROFTON – People are invited to celebrate the pollinators in the state during the 2024 edition of Nebraska Pollinator Week June 17-23.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host “Bee House Making and Keeping,” a chance to learn pollinator identification, make a bee house and learn how to keep bees, at 2 p.m. June 22 at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area, 54731 897th Road, Crofton.
Another event that is happening is the Nebraska Pollinator Quest, which is an effort to find and record as many pollinators as possible during Pollinator Week.
People are asked to find pollinators such as bees, butterflies or hummingbirds, then take a photograph of it and upload it to the cellphone app iNaturalist.
Pollinator Week is an effort to celebrate and raise awareness about pollinators and conservation.
