PIERCE – The 2024 Pierce County Fair will be held Wednesday-Sunday, July 24-28, in Pierce.

The River City Carnival will be returning this year with rides, food, games and ride armbands available. The county fair board is bringing back the events that residents enjoy, with new events as well.

The opening day of the county fair Wednesday is entry day, so make plans now to see all the 4-H shows and plan what to enter in open class. Anyone can enter in open class. Team roping will be held at 5 p.m. and it is still a free night.

See a full day of 4-H livestock judging shows Thursday-Saturday. Thursday morning will see a free omelet breakfast and Thursday evening is the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pull with six tractor classes.

Enjoy a free breakfast Friday. The demolition derby is on a new night this year, and will include Mini Vans, Limited Weld, Bonestock, Bonestock compacts and pickup classes, officiated by Wreckless Promotions.

Get the kids, ages 4-10, involved with their Power Wheels. They will have an opportunity during the derby intermission for their own heat.

Saturday is a full day of events with mud volleyball, more 4-H action and – new this year – an FFA Rib Fest. Also new this year is donkey polo. This is limited to eight teams and will be double elimination.

The Double S Bull Company is again bringing extreme bull riding, plus barrel racing and mutton bustin’. Union Township will close out the night in the beer garden.

The kids’ pedal pull has been moved to Sunday at noon, and the evening’s entertainment will include Double S Extreme Bull Fighting, plus junior bulls, junior ponies barrel racing and mutton bustin’.

A beer garden will be on the grounds for all the events again this year, so no coolers will be allowed.

The Horn T Zoo from Monroe with an exotic animal display will be on the grounds Thursday through Sunday, and Colors Da Clown will be there with balloons and face painting for the kids Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Pierce American Legion Post 72 will hold bingo in the Pavilion each day.
