Brain Injury Awareness group lists upcoming meeting dates
NORFOLK – The Brain Injury Awareness, Health and Support Group is open to all ages. These are the events and times scheduled for 2024. All meetings are on Wednesdays, begin at noon and end at 2 p.m. and are held in Meeting Room B at the Norfolk Public Library. Lunch will be provided, but preregistration is required by calling or texting (402) 860-3774. Zoom and Facebook Live may be available as well.

Three confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran
OSMOND – Three young adult members of Immanuel Lutheran Church were confirmed during services on Palm Sunday, March 24, with Rev. Scott Kirchoff officiating at the 9:30 a.m. service. The Rite of Confirmation included introduction of the confirmands and recital of their confirmation verses.

School board fields questions regarding basketball issue

2024 golf season set to begin April 1
Back for a second year of play are seniors Caydence Krienert and Tessa Gardner and sophomore Meagan Wagner. New members of this year’s team are junior Erin Wagner and freshman Kooper Gubbels.

Sharing beautiful music. . .
The Osmond junior high and senior high bands and choruses performed a variety of numbers at the spring concert on Monday, March 18. The evening began with “Ease On Down The Yellow Brick Road,” “Pure Imagination” featuring Korrine Moes and “Oklahoma” by the junior high chorus, followed by “Princess And The Frog” by the junior and senior high mixed chorus with a number of soloists. The senior high then sang “Vox,” “A Song Sung Once and “Climbin’ Up The Mountain.” The junior high band then performed “A Million Dreams,” “Bring Him Home” featuring Trenton Wiseley and “You’re Welcome.” The senior high concert band concluded the evening with “Fragile” featuring Erica Heiman and “Kyiv, 2022.”

Springtime in Nebraska?
OSMOND – The calendar might say it’s springtime, but in Osmond, it feels more like winter. The rain that started the end of last week turned into a Winter Weather Advisory on Sunday, which continued through early Tuesday morning. This area got about an inch of precipitation, but it quickly turned to ice and then blowing snow, and school was canceled on Monday and Tuesday.

Primary election ballot certified
Secretary of State Bob Evnen certi- fied the statewide ballot for the May 14, 2024, primary election. Nebraska Revised Statutes section 32-801 states the Secretary must certify candidates, offices and issues to be placed on the statewide ballot at least 50 days before the primary election.

Pierce County Communities for Kids holds provider gallery walk
In the spring of 2023, the communities of Pierce County were selected to be part of Nebraska Children and Families Foundation Communities for Kids, a state-wide initiative which supports young children, families and those providing their care. The Communities for Kids initiative is a multi-year planning and implementation initiative that was created in response to community requests for assistance with shortages of high-quality early childhood care and education programs. These shortages impact children’s optimal development and pose a challenge for communities hoping to attract and retain the viable workforce they need to thrive.
