Nebraska's farm numbers lower than last year
LINCOLN – Nebraska’s number of farms and ranches declined during 2023, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The number of farms and ranches in the state, at 44,400, was down 100 farms from 2022. Numbers of farms and ranches in Nebraska with less than $100,000 in agricultural sales was unchanged from a year earlier while operations with agricultural sales of $100,000 or more decreased 100 farms. 02/21/2024 12:00 AM

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is reminding poultry owners to continue to monitor for and protect their birds against Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).
