Don’t forget to purchase a vehicle park entry permit to enter the state parks, except one is not required to park in the Schramm Education Center parking lot. DHHS encourages Nebraskans to stay safe from ticks
LINCOLN – As spring and summer months are the primary tick season in Nebraska, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) urges all residents to be mindful of ticks and protect themselves from tickborne diseases such as Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Lyme disease.

Legion Auxiliary discusses Memorial Day
OSMOND – The American Legion Auxiliary to Post 326 met Monday, May 20, with 12 members in attendance. May is Gold Star Month and LaVon Moes was recognized with a poem reading. All members enjoyed a potluck meal.

Pierce County GOP meets May 6
The Pierce County GOP held their Tuesday, May 6, meeting in the Pierce Public Library. Chairman Bradley Lewon reported on the District 315 caucus attended by both himself and alternate delegate Bob Christiansen. Committeeman and Committeewoman for this district were elected. These individuals have the ability to introduce resolutions, propose amendments to the State GOP Constitution, and elect National Chairpersons for Nebraska.

Nebraska chicken, egg numbers reported
LINCOLN - All layers in Ne - braska during April 2024 totaled 8.40 million, up from 7.46 million the previous year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Sta - tistics Service. Nebraska egg production during April totaled 203 million eggs, up from 181 million in 2023. April egg production per 100 layers was 2,414 eggs, compared to 2,426 eggs in 2023.
