MARCHING TO A WIN
MARCHING TO A WIN – The Osmond Tiger Marching Band received first place in Class D at the Columbus Marching Festival. Osmond received the judges’ scores and finished with 65 out of 70 possible points. “We received first place in Class D, but our score was the second highest out of 15 bands,” said band instructor Christalin Ginn. “This is a great accomplishment for our first parade of the season. I can’t wait to see how the band performs this weekend at Harvest of Harmony where we will go up against 34 other Class D bands.”

Beautiful music raises funds for Poolside Park
OSMOND – Osmond residents had the opportunity to hear beautiful music at Poolside Park on Sunday, Sept. 29. Postponed from the week before, Music in the Park featured Tanner Sovereign, a young country music artist with ties to Osmond. His mother is Julie (Buchholz) Sovereign, a 1984 Osmond High School graduate, and his grandmother is Dorothy Bauermeister of Osmond.

Jason Jones convicted in Laurel murders
DAKOTA CITY – A Dakota County jury of seven men and five women last Thursday determined there to be aggravating circumstances in the murders of four Laurel residents by Jason Jones on Aug. 4, 2022, making Jones eligible for the death penalty. The jury deliberated for less than an hour Thursday afternoon before determining the murders were aggravated.
