ESU nurses share summer safety tips
Summer is here and it’s time for fun, but also safety! The Educational Service Unit 8 nursing department, consisting of 12 registered nurses serving 12 public school districts, eight parochial schools, and two learning centers, will miss their students during summer break. The department is always providing care and wants to share some summer safety tips with parents and caregivers so everyone can return to school happy and healthy in the fall.

Spend some time this summer in Nebraska’s state parks. During June, a variety of events are planned for those for all ages and interests. Don’t forget to purchase a vehicle park entry permit to enter the state parks. Get one at OutdoorNebraska.gov or at state park entrances.

Health alert issued for Iron Horse Trail Lake, Maskenthine Reservoir
LINCOLN – The state of Nebraska has issued a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Iron Horse Trail Lake in Pawnee County and Maskenthine Reservoir in Stanton County.

Students named to quarter, semester honor rolls
OSMOND – The fourth quarter and second semester honor rolls for the 2023-24 school term at Osmond Community School has been an- nounced by school officials. In order to be listed on the superior honor roll, a student must have grades of 93 or higher. Honor roll requirement is that a student must have a 90 average with no grade below 85.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission educators have scheduled interesting and engaging events for the curious in June. Don’t forget to purchase a vehicle park entry permit to enter the state parks, except one is not required to park in the Schramm Education Center parking lot. Pfanny's Farm to hold PFI field days
Junior Pfanstiel and his family farm near McLean, raising corn, soybeans, small grains, grain sorghum, buckwheat, forage peas and pinto beans on 270 acres that they are transitioning to a regenerative organic system.
