Nebraska crop production reported
LINCOLN – Based on June 1 conditions, Nebraska’s 2024 winter wheat crop is forecast at 42.5 million bushels, up 15% from last year’s crop, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Average yield is forecast at 50 bushels per acre, up 8 bushels from last year.

Pierce County Republicans meet; forums to be held June 25, 27
Chairman Bradley Lewon called the June 4 meeting to order at the Pierce Lied Public Library. Nate Codr led the group in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all.

WAYNE – Wayne State College alumni are invited to submit original artwork for the Juried Alumni Art Exhibit being held in conjunction with Homecoming. The exhibit will run Oct. 4 through Nov. 13 in the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery, located in U.S. Conn Library on campus.
