This display in the Osmond Senior Center window welcomes all the Osmond High School alumni to town for the allschool reunion, which will be held on Saturday. The senior center will be open from 12 to 5 p.m. that day.

City Council covers varied agenda; hires new city clerk
OSMOND – The Osmond City Council met Monday, June 10, at the city conference room. During the meeting, Mayor Dennis Kuhl informed the council he has hired Keely Springer as the new city clerk. After some discussion, the council voted to pay Keely Springer $14.00 per hour with a start date of June 17, 2024.

New community center envisioned; input requested
OSMOND – Osmond Community Fund and the City of Osmond have agreed to start planning and fundraising for a new community center. The planning committee, which was scheduled to meet Tuesday, June 18, consists of the following members: Clark Gansebom, Kelly Hodson, Walter Aschoff, Jim Schmit, Michael Koehler, Jason Gubbels, Bryan Manzer and Garret Kuhl.

Firemen’s pancake feed is Sunday
OSMOND – Members of the Osmond Volunteer Fire Department will hold a pancake feed on Sunday, June 23. An ad on another page of this issue invites residents of the area to the city auditorium between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

OHS alumni reunion to be held Saturday
OSMOND – The Osmond High School 35th biennial alumni reunion will take place this year on Saturday, June 22. Activities will take place at Osmond city auditorium and the street downtown.

Changes coming for Summerfest event
OSMOND – The annual Summerfest celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 29. Some of the usual activities will return again this year; however, some changes are planned.

Wayne State College Foundation names an interim CEO
WAYNE – The Board of Trustees of the Wayne State Foundation (WSF), which provides financial support for the mission of Wayne State College, announces the selection of Melissa Nelsen to serve as Interim CEO beginning July 1st, 2024. Melissa currently serves as the Director of Major Gifts for the Foundation and she will succeed current CEO Kevin Armstrong, who is leaving June 30th for a new position in Omaha. The interim CEO appointment is in effect while a national search is conducted to fill the position.

Dam road set to be closed temporarily in July for work
CROFTON – The Crest Road that crosses over the Missouri River on the Gavins Point Dam is scheduled to be closed certain times and dates in early July.
