Pierce County GOP to host candidate forum on Tuesday
PIERCE – The Republican Party of Pierce County met on Monday, Sept. 2, for its monthly meeting at the Pierce Library. Topics of discussion were the Remind app, slate cards, canvassing, the upcoming Candidate Forum and consideration of a handcounting training.

School board approves 2024-25 budget, tax request
OSMOND – The District 42R Board of Education met Monday, Sept. 9, with public hearings on the proposed 2024-25 budget and the final tax request preceding the regular meeting.

St. Mary’s dinner is set for September 15
OSMOND – St. Mary’s annual dinner is scheduled to be held on Sunday, Sep. 15. The Swiss steak dinner will be served at the Osmond city auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Class of 2037 begins educational career
OSMOND – Thirteen kindergarten students began their educational careers at Osmond Community School and St. Mary’s Catholic School – three at St. Mary’s and 10 at the public school. Instructors Amber Harrison and Rebecca Geneski provided the following information about their students.

Pierce Threshers Bee is this weekend
PIERCE – The 47th annual Pierce County Threshers Bee will be held at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Pierce on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15. This year’s features are Allis Chalmers tractors and equipment featuring all gas engines; however, all brands are welcome to attend. All exhibitors and vendors are also welcome.
