(By Coach Brian Guenther) On Monday, Jan. 29, the young Hawks traveled to Elgin to take on the Eagles. The Eagles came out on top with a score of 36-19. OSMOND – The following Osmond Community School students have been recognized for perfect at- tendance during the first semester of the 2023-24 school year. A total of six students achieved perfect attendance for the semester: Kindergarten – Beau Bahr Second grade – Finley Brummels Fifth grade – Lane Brummels, Max Blunck Sixth grade – Alyvia Koehler, Ashlynn Riley In addition, 19 students achieved perfect attendance for the second quarter. In 1988, the American frigate USS Samuel B. Roberts struck an Iranian mine in international waters. The explosion severely damaged the boat and injured several Americans. Thankfully, no one was killed – but wisely, President Reagan didn’t wait for tragedy to occur before acting. Just four days later, the United States launched Operation Praying Mantis.
