Hawks drop three close ones in competitive week
The Osmond-Randolph Hawks had three games in the last week, traveling to Winside for a make-up game, then hosting the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears before traveling to Plainview to take on the Pirates.

Quarter, semester honor rolls announced
OSMOND – The second quarter and first semester honor rolls for the 2023-24 school term at Osmond Community School have been an- nounced by school officials. In order to be listed on the superior honor roll, a student must have grades of 93 or higher. Honor roll requirements are that a student have a 90 average with no grade below 85.

Tiger wrestlers compete at Plainview tourney
PLAINVIEW – Osmond High School wrestling team traveled to Plainview tournament on Saturday, Jan. 27. The team was led by junior Jaxon Vinson, who placed first on the day. Carson Bolz finished third, Caleb Vinson finish fourth and Kaleb Gardner finished fifth. Mason True won one match and wrestled well but did not place. Nicolas Velasco also wrestled well but didn’t place!

Junior high boys’ team has busy month
OSMOND - The 2023-24 Osmond-Randolph Hawks junior high boys' basketball team consists of Talyn Meyer, Bentley Reimers, Jaylen Junck, Easton Steinkraus, Eli Bermel, Bentley Boncynski, Isaac Lienemann, Payton Kuchta, Trenton Wiseley, Tate Broderson, Dawson Gansebom and Ty Sievers, and is coached by Brian Guenther and Rob Engel.

Wattier sets record at Minnesota meet
MANKATO, MN – Keaton Wattier, a sophomore at Wayne State College, set a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles at the Mark Schuck Invitational at Minnesota State in Mankato, MN, on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Nebraska chicken, egg numbers reported
LINCOLN – All layers in Nebraska during December 2023 totaled 8.22 million, up from 6.80 million the previous year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

LINCOLN - Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.56 million cattle on feed on Jan. 1, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This inventory was down 2% from last year.
