Nielinski is first NECC player to be drafted by a MLB team
ARLINGTON, Texas – Former Northeast Community College baseball student-athlete Zane Zielinski was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the ninth round of the MLB Draft with the No. 268 overall pick Monday. Zielinski was the starting shortstop at Northeast from 2021-22 and becomes the first ever Northeast baseball player selected in the MLB Draft.

The 2023 Ole Open golf tournament champions are Austin Backer, Quin Windeshausen, Sean Gansebom and Jordan Backer. The 2024 competition is scheduled for July 27 at Rolling Hills Country Club west of Wausa, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The tournament has a best-ball format with four-person teams. Alfalfa can be irrigated, but watch for the best time
While it is a relatively drought-tolerant forage, alfalfa does not have specific growth stages when it is less sensitive to water stress. If water is not available, the plant will slow or stop growing and go dormant. Then, when water becomes available, growth resumes. Dormant plants can be harvested or grazed with relative safety, but many not be worth the time or cost.
