Secretary of State announces presidential candidates
Five candidates for U.S. president, along with their respective vicepresidential candidate, will be listed on Nebraska’s November general election ballot. The candidates have either been nominated by their respective party or have completed statewide petitions to appear on the ballot.

No one harmed by suspicious envelope received at Secretary of State's office
During routine mail collection Monday morning, the Secretary of State Elections Division received an envelope which the staff identified as suspicious. The unopened envelope was isolated in a separate area in the office in accordance with established protocols.

Nebraska crop progress, condition reported
LINCOLN – For the week ending Septe. 15, 2024, there were 7.0 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 18% very short, 40% short, 40% adequate, and 2% surplus.

SPREADING CHEER AT OSMOND GENERAL HOSPITAL – Students of Immanuel Lutheran Preschool visited residents at Osmond General Hospital on Wednesday, September 11.
