Third grade students tell what they are thankful for
OSMOND – Just in time for Thanksgiving, Osmond Community School third grade students wrote paragraphs telling what they are thankful for. They are shared here, exactly as written. ––––– I am thankful for. . . . My family and friends! I’m thankful for coats, hats, and gloves that keep me warm! I’m glad I have a young puppy! and a young kitten! I’m thankful for a car to ride in, to get me places my family needs to go! Finley Brummels My favorite thing is candy and it is good to eat. Students share Voice of Democracy speeches
OSMOND - Recently, students in the Osmond High School junior class submitted Voice of Democracy essays with the theme of "Is America Today our Forefathers' Vision," and winners of the contest were chosen. Jade Halsey was the first-place win - ner, with Jack Berg second and Ava Reikofski third.

Service organizations present flags to fifth grade students
OSMOND – Representatives of Osmond's five service organizations gave a presentation on flag etiquette to Osmond Community School fifth graders on Friday, Nov. 8. In attendance were Ron Stech, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 326; Dave Kruse, American Legion Post 326; Dallas Steckelberg, Vet - erans of Foreign Wars Post 7838; Chris Adamson, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 326, and Keri Schultze, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary to Post 7838.

School board hears positive report from guidance counselor
OSMOND – The District 42R Board of Education met Monday, Nov. 11, in regular session. The board spoke by phone with Kyle Overhue of AMGL about the district’s 2023-24 audit. He explained all the numbers on the audit, with just a few minor suggestions, including making sure bank reconciliations are correct, and possibly increasing fees for sports activities if necessary to keep it from having a negative balance.
