Stuffed Animal Sleepover
The Lied Lincoln Township Library in Wausa hosted a Stuffed Animal Sleepover Dec. 27-28. The event included many activities on Dec. 27. Faye M. Wangstrom
Funeral services for Faye M. Wangstrom, 94, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton with Pastor Steve Weispfennig of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Yankton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Osmond at approximately 1:30 p.m. Online condolences may be given at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com. Livestreaming of Faye’s services can be found at https://my.gather.app/remember/faye-wangstrom. Pallbearers for Faye’s service will be Kent Gansebom, Randy Gansebom, Clark Gansebom, Shawn Gansebom, Larry Gansebom, and Greg Netz. Mrs. Wangstrom passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2023, at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. Faye, daughter of Willie and Christina (Kube) Gansebom, was born at the family farm south of Osmond on Dec. 5, 1929. She was a baptized and confirmed member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osmond. Faye attended country school, Immanuel Lutheran School, and Osmond High School, graduating with the Class of 1947. She attended Wayne State College for a teaching certificate.

County officials attend Nebraska Association of County Officials annual conference
KEARNEY – County Treasurer Christine Bahr, County Assessor Jean Lubke, County Clerk Shannon Wragge, Veterans Service Officer Brett Rix, County Attorney Ted Lohrberg, Zoning Administrator Heather McWhorter and Clerk of District Court Vickie Prince had the opportunity to attend the Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO) Annual Conference in Kearney Dec. 13-15. It was a highly attended event that brought together more than 800 county officials to discuss important issues impacting communities throughout Nebraska.
